The New Yorker places Bulgarian movie among Best Five Movies of 2016

The Bulgarian movie Viktoria by Maya Vitkova has entered the list of best movies of 2016 of the popular US edition The New Yorker. Earlier, the Bulgarian cinema received another international recognition when Theodore Ushev’s animation Blind Vaysha entered the list of 10 short animations nominated for Oscar Awards. Richard Brody who is an author of the article in The New Yorker, placed Viktoria fourth, right after the movie Sully by Clint Eastwood, uspelite.bg web site informs. Maya Vitkova is film-director, producer and a scrip-writer of Viktoria. The action takes place in Bulgaria between 1979 and 1994.
