Residents of Hitrino start returning home

Photo: BGNES

People from the village of Hitrino where on December 10 an explosion of derailed train tank cars caused the lives of seven people, injured dozens more and caused serious material damage, started returning to their homes. There is currently no evidence of problems in railway infrastructure, which could have caused the tragic accident. The two train drivers have been detained on charges that they drove the train with almost twice the allowed speed. Investigation continues and the number of people charged may rise, prosecution says.
