Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov qualified for the 8th finals of the Australian Open – the first Grand Slam tournament of the year. In a midnight match he defeated Richard Gasquet, France with ease – 6-3, 6-2, 6-4. This is Dimitrov’s second victory versus Gasquet in a total of seven matches.
This will be the third time Grigor Dimitrov will be taking part in the 4th round of the Australian open since 2014 and 2015. In 2014 he reached the quarter finals and in 2015 – the eighth finals. For a place among the top 8 he will be facing the biggest surprise in the tournament so far – Denis Istomin, Uzbekistan who eliminated champion Novak Djokovic, Serbia in the second round.
