After losing the Russian market for most Bulgarian products traditionally exported there, among them wine, now wine exports have largely turned to Poland, indicate National Statistical Institute data for the 2011 – 2015 period.

In that time, over 70 million litres of wine have been exported to Poland, almost 30 million – to Romania and close to 20 million – to the Czech Republic. Outside the EU, Bulgaria has exported the biggest quantities of wine, over the same period, to Australia – around 65 million litres. Over 2011-2015, the countries Bulgaria has imported wine from most are Italy, France and Spain.
