On Friday major Bulgarian newspapers devote extensive articles to the start of the election campaign in Bulgaria. "Trud" points out that this time in the race for 240 seats in parliament, a total of 4732 people compete, which means there are 12 contenders for a seat. The paper also points out that the rules require from MP candidates and their supporters to observe good manners, while print and electronic media must denote whether reportages aired are paid. The rules have been agreed by parties, coalitions and initiative committees.
"Dnevnik" writes that media appearances began weeks ago and often led to attacks between opponents. There have been a number of cases of BSP giving a press conference criticizing the management of the second cabinet of Boyko Borissov, while the GERB party got used to calling a press-conference minutes or hours later to respond.
