The Russian Gazprom company has promised the European Commission not to seek compensations over the scrapping of the South Stream project, EU Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager says.

The Russian gas exporter has said it will remove all barriers in its contract with Bulgaria, barring it from from reselling Russian natural gas to other countries and companies. Gazprom has promised to put an end to mark-ups in the sale of gas in this country and to bind price formation to competitive and transparent indexes.
