The Bulgarian Interior Ministry has reported that in the period March 9 – 16th, 46 migrants were detained while trying to enter Bulgaria from Turkey, which shows a minimal increase in migration pressure.

Last week there were 34 cases and before that – 21. The rise of migration pressure could be explained with warmer weather in recent days. As of March 16 there were about 4,200 refugees and migrants in this country.

The Ministry of Interior reported strong growth of migrants returned to their home countries. In the period January 1 to March 16 , some 732 illegally staying foreign nationals were brought out of the country.
