The Federation of Consumers and Ombudsman Maya Manolova are submitting to the Administrative Court, Sofia City, a complaint against the Electricity & Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) over the new, higher price of natural gas set by EWRC, the Federation’s Executive Secretary Emil Georgiev told the Bulgarian National Radio.

On Monday the two sides are going to submit the complaint. Emil Georgiev recalled that during recent protests against the watchdog demands of protesters included amendments to the Energy Act.

Georgiev referred to a directive of the European Commission stating clearly that consumers obtain only what they had ordered. He said consumer rights would be pursued at the European Court in Strasburg and via mass protests as a last resort.
