GERB party has submitted to parliament a bill on the introduction of a majority voting system for general elections in Bulgaria.

By doing so, the ruling party is living up to its commitment to turn the results of the referendum held in the country on changes to the election rules into law. The bill envisages a 100 percent majority voting system in two rounds by absolute majority, as well as the zoning of the country’s territory into 240 single-mandate constituencies. The document also envisages voter registration for Bulgarians abroad which will give an accurate picture of the active Bulgarian voters in other countries
