First Bulgarian private satellite to be sent into orbit

The first Bulgarian communication private satellite BulgariaSat-1 owned by Bulsatcom company is to be sent into orbit from Cape Canaveral Space Center in Florida. The only Bulgarian satellite Intercosmos-Bulgaria-1300 which was sent into orbit back in 1981 is no longer active. Bulgaria-Sat-1 will be located at a distance of 36,000 kilometers above Earth and will provide coverage in the Balkans and in part of Europe. The owners estimate the project at USD 235 million. BulgariaSat-1 will be active for nearly 20 years.
