Bulgaria’s head of state Rumen Radev held a telephone conversation with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. President Radev invited Putin to visit Bulgaria in 2018 on occasion of the 140th anniversary since the end of the Russo-Turkish war of 1877-1878 and the liberation of Bulgaria. President Putin accepted the invitation and thanked President Radev for his contribution to the development of the bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Russia. Presidents Putin and Radev also discussed bilateral cooperation in trade, economy and power engineering. Rumen Radev and Vladimir Putin voiced hopes that the bilateral relations between the two countries would not be politicized and would develop in the future on the basis of mutual benefit.
