Photo: BTA

Because of the low level of the Danube, five shallow sections have formed and ship-owners can not use the full capacity of their vessels, head of Rousse River Directorate to the Maritime Administration Agency Ivan Zhekov has reported. Through the critical stretches, two of which are near Belene and Vardim, the ships must have draft of no more than 2,30-2,40 meters. The level of the Danube at Rousse today is 55 centimeters above the conditional zero level. According to forecasts the level of the river will rise by 4 centimeters in the next two days.
