European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker has promised Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico to spread technical guidance on how regulators can fine producers whose products of the same brand are of different quality in Eastern and Western Europe, Brussels correspondent of the Bulgarian National Radio Nikola Miladinov has announced.

In a recent study by the Bulgarian Agency for Food Safety that analyzed 31 identical products bought from the same food chains in Germany, Austria and Bulgaria has found discrepancies in the contents of the surveyed products sold to markets in Western and Eastern Europe.

However, the Agency has indicated that disparities do not pose a health hazard to people who consume them.
