The main priority of the Ministry of Interior is increasing the security of this country. Counter-terrorism will also involve faster exchange of information with partner agencies. This is what Interior Minister Valentin Radev said at a briefing on the government's program regarding the "public order and security" sector.

Migration policy and prevention of illegal migration is the second important priority. Afghanistan and Iraq are countries to which illegal migrants are regularly returned. Authorities are also working on enhancing border security. Until now, 57 million euros out of a total of 160 million euros have been earmarked for border security.

On the agenda of the Ministry of Interior are also actions against telephone frauds. A separate police department has been set up to deal with this kind of crime.
