We have been working on one of our main priorities in the energy sector - diversification of sources and routes for supply of natural gas, Bulgarian Minister of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova said during a joint inspection with Prime Minister Boyko Borisov on the construction of the Lozenets - Nedyalsko section of the transit gas pipeline for Turkey.

The project is of key importance to the development of the existing interconnection of Bulgaria with its southern neighbor. The facility is expected to be operational in 2018. The Prime Minister pointed out that the government was also working on the interconnectors with Serbia and Greece. "We respect the European legislation and the requirements of the Third Package when implementing the projects; everyone can pay transit fees and transit through Bulgaria," Borisov said.
