Bulgarians to be able to check medical records online

From now on, every Bulgarian citizen who pays a visit to a regional office of the Health Insurance Fund will have the opportunity to get their Unique Access Code (UAC) for their medical record for free. With the UAC, each citizen will be able to verify that the activities recorded in their personal file have actually been performed.

If they found a discrepancy in the data, they could complain to the Health Insurance Fund. The control bodies of the institution could also carry out an inspection, informing the citizen of the results. If necessary, the electronic health record will be corrected with the activities actually done to the benefit of the patient.
