Bulgaria marks today 132 years since the Unification of the Principality of Bulgaria with Eastern Rumelia. The culmination of the celebrations will be in the city of Plovdiv (Central South Bulgaria) where on On September 6, 1885, military groups and a detachment headed by Prodan Tishkov (mostly known as Chardafon) arrested the local governor and proclaimed the Unification of the Principality of Bulgaria with Eastern Rumelia. Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev will attend the ceremony in front of the Monument of Unification in Plovdiv. The Bulgarian National Radio will broadcast live the ceremony at 8.30 pm. The Unification will be marked with various ceremonies in other Bulgarian cities such as Sofia, Sliven, Varna, etc. The start of the celebrations was given in the town of Saedinenie (unification) on Tuesday evening. National Assembly President Dimitar Glavchev greeted the guards of honor.
