The Unification of Bulgaria is a well-thought and joint act of an inspired nation, Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev said on Wednesday evening in the city of Plovdiv during the official ceremony that marked the 132nd anniversary since the Unification between the Principality of Bulgaria and Eastern Rumelia. In September 1885 a resurrected nation took its destiny into its own hands and obliterated the boundaries drawn by the Great Powers, Bulgaria’s head of state said. In the past 132 years we have been going back to that glorious moment and have been trying to figure out how only seven years after the liberation of Bulgaria the people were more mature than we are today and managed to reach their national target through an almost bloodless act, President Radev further said.
