Bulgarian Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva has confirmed that after December 1, Bulgarians will be able to travel and stay in Canada without visas within a period of 6 months. The minister, however, pointed out that visa-free travel does not allow working in Canada, but is suitable for short business trips, tourism, visits to relatives and friends.
Those wishing to work should apply for and obtain permission from the Canadian Ministry of Labor and Social Policy.
Asked about the issue with U.S. visas, Minister Zaharieva said diplomatic efforts in this direction continued and she hoped that U.S. visas will be lifted within the next three years.
