Ten specialized institutions for people with disabilities in Bulgaria to shut doors

Ten specialized institutions for people with disabilities will be closed down over the next 4 years. This is the plan under the National Long-Term Care Strategy. The aim is to provide support for these people in home environment.

In four years, the state is expected to have provided quality care and support in new environment for some 750 people with mental disorders and disabilities, who are to leave specialized institutions. Two thousand people with disabilities will have day care and part-time care provided for them, and another 17,000 will receive cares in home environment
