During its EU Presidency, Bulgaria will seek balance and understanding on most important issues of European relevance

Within the frameworks of his working visit to Canada, Bulgaria’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev met with the consuls general of the EU countries, accredited in Toronto.

Addressing the diplomats, Georg Georgiev presented the priorities of Bulgaria’s upcoming Presidency of the Council of the EU, laying emphasis on the fact that the country will seek a balance and understanding on the most important European issues from the strategic agenda of the EU. He added that Bulgaria will work towards improving competitiveness and stability by creating conditions for unity and solidarity.

“We shall focus on security and migration, growth and creating jobs, the European prospects of the Western Balkans, the Eastern Partnership and the Black Sea region,” Deputy Minister Georg Georgiev said.
