Bulgaria Economic Forum is sitting on the eve of Bulgaria’s Presidency of the EU

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary since it was founded, the Bulgaria Economic Forum is holding a forum on the European economic agenda during Bulgaria’s Presidency of the council of the EU, 2018.

Lilyana Pavlova, Minister of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU stated that the European prospects of the Western Balkans must be backed by concrete projects in transport, energy, education and digital connectivity. Ognian Zlatev, Head of the Representation of the European Commission in Bulgaria on his part said that the most effective way to guarantee peace, stability and prosperity in the Balkans is by bringing societies closer to one another. Adding that the cycle of the European semester for coordinating  economic, financial and social policies for 2018 is beginning against the background of stable economic activity in the Eurozone and throughout the entire EU, record-high employment and declining unemployment, Zlatev pointed out that in this respect, things in Bulgaria are looking very good.
