On December 10 Bulgaria marks one year since the tragic train blast in the village of Hitrino. On December 10, 2016, seven people lost their lives and dozens were wounded after several cisterns of a cargo train transporting propylene or propane gas derailed and exploded at Hitrino train station. Many houses were completely or partly destroyed after the blast. In the recent days some doubts related to the fair distribution of the funds raised in charity campaigns, or allotted by the state or the European Union, occurred. The public council in Hitrino has been distributing the funds and the materials allotted to the village well, the Bulgarian Red Cross assured. Today, Bulgaria’s Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Nikolay Nankov will visit Hitrino.
