More than half of employers in Bulgaria plan to raise the wages in 2018, the President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Tsvetan Simeonov told NOVA television.
In estimates of the chamber this move will be made by 51% of employers while 17% have said they have no resources to do so. Further 28% are undecided, a BCCI poll has found. 2% of companies plan to cut the wages of their workers.
In most cases the pay rise will be about 10% (with 79% of employers) while just 1% of them plan to raise wages by more than 20%.
Biggest pay rises next year are planned in the IT sector, industry, telecommunications, real estate and trade.
