David McAllister: Bulgaria could help in solving Macedonia name dispute

Bulgaria may contribute to solving the dispute between Athens and Skopje on the name of Macedonia, which has been blocking for years Skopje's bid to join the European Union and NATO. This was what Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the EP, David McAllister, said in an interview with the Bulgarian National Radio.

According to him, 2018 will give a new impetus to EU enlargement policy. However, McAllister said he saw no reason to continue membership talks with Turkey because of divergence from European values and added that the EU was far from normalizing relations with Russia.
