President Radev: Europe should help countries in Africa and Middle East solve migrant crisis

Bulgaria’s head of state Rumen Radev met with Malta’s President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca in Sofia. Presidents Radev and Preca announced at a joint briefing that there was huge potential for development of the Bulgaria- Malta relations in finance, education, healthcare and tourism. Bulgaria’s President Radev and his Maltese counterpart Preca also discussed topics of the international agenda and topics related to the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Presidents Radev and Preca agreed that a permanent solution of the migrant crisis is possible only through higher security and stability in the migrants’ home countries. Europe should not turn into fortress. It should help the countries in Africa and the Middle East instead, President Rumen Radev pointed out at the briefing.
