I welcome the strategy adopted by the European Commission in relation to the Western Balkans. That was what Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said.
Prime Minister Borissov pointed out that the strategy was clearly showing the desire of Europe to develop as a continent of stability, security and prosperity. The six countries and their peoples are given a European perspective and a clear sign that, as early as 2025, those who are ready could become EU members, Borissov pointed out. The Prime Minister declared that the Bulgarian government would support the Western Balkans in their membership path process and expected everyone in May to discuss together ways for more effective work in this direction. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that many of the Bulgarian ideas about the European perspective of the region have been included in the strategy.
