Bulgaria and Saudi Arabia discuss strategic cooperation

After talks in Sofia with her Saudi counterpart Adel al-Jubeir, Bulgaria’s Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva stated that Bulgaria attaches particular importance to relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and sees a significant potential in cooperation in sectors of strategic importance.

Minister Adel al-Jubeir on his part commented that his visit affords an opportunity for deepening bilateral relations and interaction in tackling global challenges.

The sides also discussed EU policies with regard to the Southern Neighbourhood and security in the Persian Gulf. Minister Zaharieva stated that Bulgaria was willing to support any constructive effort for overcoming the differences between the Gulf Cooperation Council and some of its members.
