Bulgarian President considers calling Consultative National Security Council meeting over CEZ deal

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev has announced that he was considering calling a meeting of the Consultative National Security Council over the deal with CEZ's assets in Bulgaria.

President Radev has expressed doubts that the deal was actually a covert acquisition scheme.

"According to the law, CEZ is part of the national and European electricity infrastructure with a direct link to issues of national security. The lightning-fast resignation of the Minister of Energy does not end the case. On the contrary, it has generated even more questions," the President said.

He called on the government to take actions and give a response to the concerns and doubts of all people who pay for electricity.
