Sergey Lavrov: Russian-Bulgarian brotherhood has not been harmed by the test of time

At the opening of an exhibition in Moscow, dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the liberation of Bulgaria from Turkish domination, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that the cultural and spiritual values that unite Russia and Bulgaria are still the fundament of the friendly relations between the two countries.

Russia’s foreign minister expressed the conviction that “Russian-Bulgarian brotherhood, our shared cultural and spiritual heritage have not been harmed by the test of time,” and are a fundament for the development of bilateral relations and cooperation in politics, economy, tourism, culture. Bulgaria’s ambassador to the Russian Federation Boyko Kotzev on his part said that in Russian-Bulgarian relations “the preservation of our shared history is our duty and priority task”.
