Bulgaria expects more active economic relations with Israel

Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva held talks in Sofia with a delegation from the State of Israel, which is paying a visit for the 75th anniversary of the rescue of the Bulgarian Jews.

Minister Zaharieva expressed pride in the fact that during World War II, the Bulgarian people saved the Jews from the territory of the Kingdom of Bulgaria from deportation, but also regret that the remaining 11,000 Jews from Thrace and Macedonia did not share their fate. The sides noted that relations between the two countries are developing very well. Minister Zaharieva expressed the hope that economic contacts will intensify.
