Between January and February 2018 Bulgaria’s export to the European Union increased with 16.5% as compared to the same period last year to EUR 2,955 million, the National Statistical Institute announced. The export to Germany, Italy, Romania, Greece, France and Belgium formed 68.3% of Bulgaria’s total export to the EU. Meanwhile, imports from the EU in the same period increased with 12.3% to EUR 3,142 million. Germany, Italy, Romania, Spain and Greece were the biggest EU exporters to Bulgaria. Bulgaria’s trade balance in January-February 2018 was negative at EUR 187 million.
