A new survey conducted by the National Statistical Institute themed “Demographics of Enterprises” has found that almost half of actively operating companies in Bulgaria do not have a single employee and only their owners work in them. The survey encompasses the period between 2012 and 2016. The second largest group is the one of companies with a staff between 1 and 4 persons and they constitute a little over one third of all operating companies. Only 7.9% of operating companies have a workforce of 10 or more people but they provide means of living to nearly 70% of working Bulgarians, the survey reveals.
