The 70th anniversary of Bulgaria’s military transport aviation was marked today at Vrazhdebna air base near Sofia, alongside the anniversary of the 16th transport aviation group.

Addressing the troops, Bulgarian President and commander-in-chief Rumen Radev pointed out that what has remained unchanged through the years are the drive and the strong sense of responsibility with which the group's personnel have been tackling their tasks. The Bulgarian head of state added that military transport aviation maintains a constant readiness for medical evacuation, for transporting people in the event of crisis, and for transporting organ transplant teams.
