In 2017 Bulgaria’s debt amounted to EUR 13.2 billion, or 25.6% of the country’s gross domestic product, the National Statistical Institute informs. The budget surplus in Central Government subsector amounted to EUR 495 million or 1.0% of the GDP. The Local Government subsector registered a surplus of EUR 122 million.
