Photo: library

The Bulgarian Electricity System Operator will invest nearly EUR 31 million in the construction of an electrical grid which will boost the electricity distribution capacity between Bulgaria and Romania. The measure is in line with the European Mechanism that promotes Policy Coherence for Development. The power line will distribute electricity from wind power plants in Northeast Bulgaria and Southeast Romania to Greece and Turkey. The Bulgarian Ministry of Energy contends that the construction of the power grid will improve the security of the power transmission system in Southeast Europe.
