Working women in Bulgaria earn an average of 14.4 percent less than men

The Confederation of Independent Trade Unions and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation organized a national conference dedicated to equal pay day between women and men.

The focus of the discussions is on the factors behind the gender pay gap and the mechanisms of minimizing the difference.

Working women in the EU still earn an average of 16.2 percent less than men, for Bulgaria this percentage stands at 14.4. This affects the retirement pensions of men and women in the EU, with the difference reaching 36.6 percent.
