Bulgaria’s aircraft selection working group recommends negotiations with USA for acquisition of F-16 fighter jets

The Bulgarian working group established to assess the offers for acquisition of new multi-role fighter aircraft for the Bulgarian air forces came up with a proposal to the Bulgarian government to start negotiations with the USA for acquisition of new F-16 fighter jets. Bulgaria also received offers for new Gripen (Sweden) and used Eurofighter (Italy) aircraft. The report was submitted to the Bulgarian Council of Ministers by this country’s Minister of Defense Krasimir Karakachanov and the Bulgarian Minister of Economy Emil Karanikolov.
