Bulgaria retains positions in world rankings of economic freedom, prosperity and competitiveness

Bulgaria has retained its positions in world rankings of economic freedom, prosperity and competitiveness, the annual review of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry shows. Bulgaria retained its positions in the Index of Economic Freedom of Heritage Foundation and Wall Street Journal magazine and advanced with two basis points in the Economic Freedom of the World of the Canadian Fraser Institute. The Human Development Index (HDI) of the United Nations also shows positive developments in Bulgaria. In 2016 Bulgaria placed 65th in this ranking and in 2018 it advanced to the 51st position. Meanwhile, Bulgaria dropped 9 positions at the latest edition of the Doing Business of the World Bank, the review of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry further shows.
