At the age of 79, great Bulgarian footballer and coach Ivan Vutsov passed away. He started his football career in Yantra (Gabrovo), but achieved his biggest successes with the team of Levski Sofia.
In the period 1960-1968 he played more than 300 matches for the "blue team". He had 24 matches for the national team and played at the World Cup in England in 1966. After the end of his football career he became a coach. As a manager of "Levski" between 1974 and 1980 he won the Bulgaria Cup and twice the national championship. Under his leadership, Levski eliminated Ajax Amsterdam for the UEFA Cup and reached the quarter finals where Levski faced Barcelona scoring a 5: 4 victory despite being eliminated.
As a coach of the national team of Bulgaria he qualified for the World Cup in Mexico in 1986. He had been head of the Bulgarian Football Union for many years.
