EC warns Bulgaria of violations of energy efficiency rules and public procurement procedures

The EC have sent letters of notification to Bulgaria and another 14 EU countries requesting the exact implementation of the energy efficiency rules. Separate letters inform these countries they are also required to comply with public procurement procedures. Member States have two months to respond. If they do not take action, Brussels will continue the penalty procedure.

At the same time, the EC has suspended proceedings against Bulgaria, Greece and Portugal for violating antitrust rules because the three countries have implemented the EU antitrust enforcement measures required.
