Bulgaria was the only country which opposed to the France-Germany compromise for amendments to the EU gas directive, BTA informs based on information from Deutsche Welle. The other EU member states supported the proposal.  France and Germany agreed to oversight from the territory and the territorial sea of the member state where the first interconnection point is located. The France-Germany compromise will allow Berlin to remain the lead negotiator with Russia on the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. The amendments are still being negotiated and are yet to be voted at the European Parliament.
