Toll police exercise powers in full as of today

As of 1 March, the inspectors from the newly formed toll police will be exercising the law themselves by all means available to them, and will apply administrative sanctions with regard to vignettes and toll taxes, said Georgi Terziyski, chairman of the Road Infrastructure Agency.

Which roads from the national road network in Bulgaria will be included in the toll system will soon be specified, as some municipalities want a change of ownership for some roads, so as to take over their maintenance. Drivers from these municipalities will not be paying vignette tax.
