A total of 341 people filed applications in a job competition for 185 vacant positions in Bulgaria’s Land Forces. The job competition is held within the frameworks of the Be A Soldier campaign organized by the Bulgarian Ministry of Defense aimed at popularizing this profession. In 2019 up to 800 people will be employed at the Bulgarian armed forces, despite the deficit of nearly 3,000 people in the sector. There are 100 available job positions in the Bulgarian Navy. According to Bulgaria’s Chief of Defense General Andrey Botsev, this country’s armed forces will receive new equipment which will motivate many highly-educated and qualified people to join the system.
