Deputy Minister of Economy Alexander Manolev resigns over allegations of misappropriation of EU funds

Deputy Minister of Economy Alexander Manolev has tendered his resignation to Prime Minister Boyko Borissov. The resignation has been accepted.

Manolev is resigning after the Supreme Cassation Prosecutor’s Office launched a probe into alleged misappropriation of EU funds. According to media publications Alexander Manolev built a guest house, financed under the rural development programme, which he used exclusively as a private villa.
