PM Boyko Borissov: Accelerating reforms in Western Balkans is important for stability in region and in Europe

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov has been taking part in the Meeting of EU Heads of State and Governments in Sibiu, Romania. Among the topics of the meeting are aspects of the Strategic Agenda 2019-2024. At the meeting, Borissov pointed out that promoting economic, social and territorial cohesion as well as solidarity between EU Member States should remain guiding principles. He pointed out that Bulgaria continues to support the countries of the Western Balkans on their way to the EU, and that accelerating the reform process in these countries is essential for achieving sustainable stability in the region and Europe as a whole.

A declaration of 10 principles aimed at preserving the unity of the European Union after Brexit has been adopted. These include the protection of a United Europe, the pursuit of common solutions to common problems, the protection of democracy and the rule of law, and the pursuit of responsible global leadership of Europe.
