During negotiations sides do not talk about prices, but some of the F-16 deal parameters are not beneficial and prices need to be normalized, Bulgarian Defense Minister Krasimir Karakachanov said. It's not about cutting the price at the expense of capabilities. The minister gave as an example the prices the US want for language training of Bulgarian pilots, which they theyhave passed long ago.

If agreement over payments for new fighters was not reached, this may could stop other military modernization projects and military salary hikes, Minister Karakachanov said.
