Bulgaria’s Minister of Economy Emil Karanikolov met with the Chinese Vice Premier Hu Chunhua. Emil Karanikolov and Hu Chunhua discussed the trade and economic cooperation between Bulgaria and China in the Chinese city of Ningbo which hosts the annual Investment and Trade Expo 17+1. Minister Karanikolov underlined that Bulgaria supports and contributes actively to the development of the China-CEEC cooperation initiative 17+1. Emil Karanikolov pointed out that cooperation between Bulgaria and China in trade sector has increased steadily in the recent years. In 2018 Bulgaria’s export to China reached a record-high level and between January and March 2019 it amounted to USD 240.6 million, which is 16.1% increase as compared to the same period last year.
