Ekaterina Zaharieva: European Union is the best place to live

The Eastern Partnership has achieved significant results, but there is still more to be done. The EU must have a vision for the future of the Eastern Partnership after 2020, Bulgaria’s Deputy Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva said at the Batumi International Conference dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the initiative. The forum gathered in Georgia high-ranking politicians from the European Union and the Eastern Partnership, business representatives, academic circles and the non-government sector. The free trade zones with Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine and the agreements with Armenia and Azerbaijan are among the achievements of the Eastern Partnership, Minister Zaharieva said. The trade between the EU and the countries from the Eastern Partnership increased significantly in the recent years, Ekaterina Zaharieva added. The European Union is the best place to live, but there is more to be done and the role of the young people is extremely important in this aspect, Ekaterina Zaharieva underlined.
