The share of shadow economy in Bulgaria’s economy is nearly 20%

The turnover of Bulgaria’s gray economy amounts between EUR 12 billion and EUR 13 billion per year, data of the Confederation of the Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria show. The share of shadow economy in this country’s economy is nearly 20%, mainly in trade, agriculture and auto repair activities, the President of CITUB Plamen Dimitrov said. The gray economy kills the competition and the human rights, Plamen Dimitrov pointed out and added that the Confederation of the Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria has made proposals for legislative amendments aimed at limiting undeclared employment and shadow economy.
